We have many PR opportunities for NAWBO-California members.
NAWBO-California has retained the services of a public relations
agency. They regularly submit press releases and story ideas
about women business owners to the California media. In addition,
many NAWBO chapters also have media outreach efforts and receive
many inquiries for specific woman owned business.
For example, NAWBO members have been quoted in newspapers
and magazines throughout the state (Los Angeles Times, San
Francisco Chronicle, San Diego Union-Tribune, Orange County
Register, Daily News, Sacramento Business Journal, San Jose
Business Journal, and many others), as well as national publications,
such as TIME Magazine.
Here are a few ways to take advantage of these unique and
FREE PR opportunities available to NAWBO-California members:
SUCCESS STORIES
The media loves “Success Stories”. Please submit
your story to mary@prworks.ms. It should be about:
- a business or beneficial relationship(s) that have been
made through NAWBO.
- a Procurement Success Story (with the government, with a
corporate partner, because of certification, etc.).
MEDIA INTERVIEWS
- Sometimes the media calls us looking for a specific type
of woman business owner. We go to our database looking for
a match to their query. The more information you disclose
(see instructions below), the easier it will be for our
PR professionals to quickly find you as a potential source
for a story.
To UPDATE your business profile
- To complete your business profile, go to "My NAWBO
Home" page.
- Near the upper left hand side of the screen select "View
and edit my personal profile".
- Select "Edit" button to update you basic contact
information.

section of the profile data independently.
